The maison de jewels process

Design Team

We have 5 full time designers who bring inspirations and creativity into life. Designs are then turned from 2-Dimensional ideas into 3-Dimensional reality.

Master models

Master silver models either start from hand carved wax or 3D printed wax. This process usually takes up to 2 weeks.

Casting

We do all the alloy mixing in house to ensure the silver & gold content exceeds or is up to standards of our request, whilst maintaining hypoallergenic properties.

Filing

Filing removes any small imperfections on the surface. Assembly of parts are also done here with laser soldering machines.

Setting

Setting can be done at the wax depending on the materal of the stone used. There are also various types of setting techniques that can be incorporated into different designs. Examples include: illusion setting, bezel setting and most common of all; prong setting. We use created white sapphire and colored Nano gems to ensure the highest quality and consistent in shade and color.

Polishing

Polishing adds high shine to your pieces of jewelry and is preparation of plating.

Plating

2 of the most common types of plating for MDJ products are Rhodium and 18K Gold (Rose gold & Yellow gold). Plating can be used for decorative purposes but also acts as a protective layer against tarnishing from everyday wear.

Quality Control

QC is added into every step of the process to ensure that every piece of jewelry that leaves the production facility exceeds the expectations of customers at an affordable price.

Packaging

All MDJ products comes with our very own unique box to safely store your pieces of jewelry. Special gift wrap is available on request.
